June 2023 What happened to May ?

Early morning on Eastern Avenue

Early morning on Eastern AvenueA quiet start to the day

So here we are in the middle of June. The weather is sunny and warm and we are catching up with gardening jobs which were neglected in May due to our participation in RHS Chelsea Flower show.

The workload for RHS Chelsea is somewhat heavy. Our preparations begin in February and continue until we load our van and travel to the show site several days before the show opens. So we spend 5 days inhabiting a 4 metre x 3 metre space which, thankfully, becomes filled with customers.

This year was our 16th visit to the show.It is indeed a unique experience which has generated good business and some lovely memories.

We are encouraged by the RHS to include plants in the display.Although it is another task to be fulfilled we do find that visitors are appreciative of the efforts made by standholders.

Spring time reaches its high point during May and we returned to our home in Herefordshire on May 28th to be met by a landscape overflowing with Hawthorn blossom and a rich mix of birdsong.A timely reminder that the month of May had not gone missing.
